Image formats used in Google Ads
13 Abril 2021Display Google Ads campaigns complement every campaign that I run for my clients. Responsive display ads are most often used, but it happens that the client wants to create specific advertising banners, and then it is worth knowing what graphics formats can be used in Google Ads.
Banner formats for display advertising
Not everyone wants to create every possible format, so I’ve broken down the entire list into the most used formats and all the rest. Hope this will make your work a little easier. One thing you must remember is the size of the graphics. The advertising banner cannot be larger than 150 kb. This is quite important information. If the size is even 1 kb larger, the system will not let you pass the graphics you want to use.
The most popular image formats used in Google Ads:
-
300×250
- 728×90
- 320×100
- 300×600
- 336×280
Other image formats used in Google Ads:
- 320×50
- 468×80
- 234×60
- 300×1050
- 970×90
- 970×250
- 120×600
- 120×240
- 160×600
- 180×150
- 125×125

Image formats for responsive image ads
However, the most frequently chosen display ads are by far the most responsive display ads. All because of the ease and time needed to create them. We can create responsive display ads in the Google Ads panel with only two graphics and a logo. However, I recommend creating more options in the same sizes to test which graphics work best for us.
Image formats for responsive image ads
- Landscape format (1.91: 1): 1200 × 628 (minimum size: 600 × 314)
- Square (1: 1) 1200 × 1200 (minimum size: 300 × 300)
Logo dimensions for responsive display ads
- Landscape format (4: 1) 1200 × 300 (Minimum size: 512 × 128)
- Square (1: 1) 1200 × 1200 (Minimum size: 128 × 128)
I recommend that you always create a few graphics packages for graphic advertising in order to be able to test which one our clients like. On this basis, we can later create graphics that will work better in our ads from the very beginning. It is also worth remembering to change the graphics in advertising campaigns from time to time. All this so that our graphics do not “stick” to users and are always interesting for them.
